Why are we doing this campaign?
On June 24, Venezuela was hit by two severe earthquakes and a large number of strong aftershocks. In a country where many people are very poor and already struggling, this is disastrous. Thousands of people have died or been injured, and tens of thousands are still missing. On top of that, tens of thousands of people no longer have a place to live and have lost everything. The infrastructure is destroyed, hospitals are overwhelmed, and the country is barely equipped to help those in need. The devastation is immense, and the grief is enormous.
My sister-in-law Anamauvic is Venezuelan and is currently visiting us in the Netherlands. Through her, even though we have never been there ourselves, the Venezuelan people have found a place in our hearts. People who have little, but share what they have and try to keep looking at life in a positive way. And that last part is extremely difficult for them right now, because the despair and devastation are overwhelming…
While Anamauvic is here with us in the Netherlands, her country is collapsing — literally.
Through her, we receive a lot of information about what the situation in the area around La Guaira and Caracas is really like, and it is truly very serious. There is a lack of food, water and medicine. There is a need for clothing, medical supplies, baby and children’s items, and so much more.
Anamauvic’s mind and heart are in Venezuela, and despite the distance, she really wants to do something to help the people there. Together with us, she will be making these tiles, and based on the information she receives from family and friends in Venezuela, she will select the causes we will support. After all, they know better than anyone what is needed most.

We do not have a target amount. Every euro we will be able to donate helps a little. And of course, we are hoping for lots and lots of little bits…
We have to purchase the tiles ourselves and also pay VAT on the sales price. At this price, we are selling the limited-edition tiles below cost. This way, we are also contributing a little ourselves with every tile sold.
Absolutely. Please contact anouk@boetiekblij.nl and share your ideas with us. We will then discuss the possibilities with you. The price depends on the complexity of the design.
In principle, we can deliver quickly, but this will depend a little on the number of orders. We aim to ship the tiles within a few days after your order and payment.
In principle, we only ship within the Netherlands. This is due to the shipping costs. Would you still like to have your order shipped abroad? Please email anouk@boetiekblij.nl, and we will discuss the possibilities and costs with you.
